1. Introduction (6 Hours)
Objectives
The medical student will be familiar with the female reproductive anatomy, the maternal physiological changes during pregnancy and any deviation from the norm, ovulation, fertilization and embryogenesis.

2. Pregnancy (5 Hours)
Objectives
The medical student will be familiar with the symptoms and signs of a normal pregnancy and management of a pregnant lady during antenatal care.

3. Complications in early pregnancy (5 hours)
Objectives
The medical student will be familiar with the causes of bleeding in early pregnancy and can differentiate each cause (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy and gestational trophoblastic disease) according to the clinical presentation, necessary investigations and optimal management for each.

4. Antepartum haemorrhage (3 hours)
Objectives
The medical student will be familiar with the causes of antepartum haemorrhage and the management of this obstetric emergency according to the etiology.

5. Normal and Abnormal Labour (7 hours)
Objectives
The medical student will be introduced to components of normal labor and have an idea on the optimal management of any abnormality during parturition and high risk pregnancies.

6. The Puerperium (2 hours)
Objectives
The medical student will have sufficient knowledge about the normal progress of the pregnant woman in the puerperium and will be familiar with the complications in the postpartum period.

7. Medical Disorders during pregnancy (2 hours)
Objectives
The medical student will have sufficient knowledge about the clinical approach for a lady with hypertension during pregnancy and its complications.

The medical student will be familiar with the management of the complications that may face the patient during pregnancy and have a good background in the optimal approach to such complications.

Objectives
The medical student will have fair knowledge of obstetric and gynecological ultrasound, CT scan, MRI imaging techniques and additional benefits of imaging during procedures such as amniocentesis.

Objectives
The aim of this course is to familiarize the medical student with complications that may face a pregnant patient and fetus during pregnancy and labor and to have an idea on the management of these complications.

2. Medical disorders during pregnancy (9 hours)
Objectives
The medical student should have an idea about the medical diseases that may complicate pregnancy and its effect on the mother and fetus and the management of these disorders. It also includes the causes and management of obstetric shock and the definition and classification of maternal deaths.

3. General gynaecology (6 hours)
Objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce the medical student to disorders affecting the gynaecological system and the clinical approach to such disorders. The course also includes an introduction to the available operative techniques in gynaecology.

4. Contraception (2 hours)
Objectives

The aim of this course is to give an idea about the symptoms and signs of the perimenopause and menopause and the available treatments for alleviating the symptoms of menopause.
