Department Mission

The department of anatomy is devoted to teaching the science of human anatomy to medical students as it is a core material in studying medicine. The department starts introducing the gross anatomical features of the human body, in addition to the histological criteria of body tissues and their embryological development. Plus, the department is dedicated to explaining the concept of medical biology to the newly coming candidates.

Through their study courses at the department of anatomy, students continue learning the basics of medical sciences and their special terms. Moreover, the department shares in developing students skills of mind via different up-to-date teaching methods of academic and practical material, experiencing variable examination tools, and applying such information in practice.

 

Department Vision

The department of anatomy foresees the consolidation of professional skills of students in order to create a new generation of medical doctors who believe in the integration of practical competence with theoretical background. The department visualizes making the basic medical sciences a solid foundation for building up a great deal of medical knowledge through the introduction of the use of surgical instruments, the principles of imaging techniques, and the preliminary doctrine of clinical examination as teaching methods adopted are clinically oriented.

 

Department Objectives

The department of anatomy aims at preparation of proficient medical doctors competent in their fields of specialization in order to supply health staff with medical scientists capable of upgrading health standards to a level comparable to that of developed countries through:

·         Counting on the principle of going along with, and introducing, the modern and most recent standardized teaching methods in the world.

·         Identifying the importance of scientific research for medical students, and utilization of medical sciences in serving the development of the community.

·         Participation in the preparation of teaching staff talented at recreation via the stimulation of group working spirit among teachers and interactive contribution between teachers and students.

·         Supplying scientific institutes with studies and researches, with the involvement in scientific conferences and symposia.
