Under the patronage of the Iraqi Cardio-Thoracic Society and in collaboration with the global pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Abdul-Hameed Rasheed, a faculty member from the Department of Internal Medicine at our college, participated in a specialized scientific symposium on bronchial asthma. The event was held in observance of World Asthma Day. The symposium also featured the participation of Professor Dr. Mohammed Wahib from the College of Medicine – University of Baghdad, and Professor Dr. Abdul-Hameed Al-Qaseer from the College of Medicine – Al-Mustansiriyah University. The main goal of the symposium was to highlight the latest updates and therapeutic practices in the management of severe bronchial asthma. Participants discussed recent medical advancements in diagnosing and treating the disease, with an emphasis on internationally approved treatment protocols that contribute to improving patients’ quality of life. It is worth noting that World Asthma Day is held annually in May to raise awareness about asthma and its prevention. This symposium is part of ongoing efforts to stay up-to-date with medical advancements and apply them in clinical practice to better serve patients.
