Faculty Member from the College of Medicine / Al-Nahrain University Participates in the First Scientific Conference of the College of Pharmacy

Assistant Lecturer Nihal Ramadan Huwairf, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology at the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University, participated in the First Scientific Conference of the College of Pharmacy, Al-Nahrain University. The conference was held under the theme "Pharmaceutical Industry: Between Reality and Ambition" on April 24, 2025, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ahmed Rahmeh Abu Ragheef and Professor Dr. Enas Jawad Kadhim from the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad.

Assistant Lecturer Nihal Ramadan presented a scientific research paper titled:

"Ameliorating Effects of Terpenes Fraction of Iraqi Garbanzo bean on Lipid Profile, Liver Function Enzymes, Oxidative Stress Parameters, and Histopathological Changes in Hyperlipidemic Mice"

The study investigated the therapeutic effects of the terpenes fraction extracted from Iraqi chickpeas on blood lipid levels, liver enzyme activity, oxidative stress markers (MDA, GSH), and histopathological changes in the liver and aorta of laboratory-induced hyperlipidemic mice. The results demonstrated significant improvement in the studied parameters, opening new avenues for the use of plant extracts in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.

This participation reflects the college's ongoing efforts to support scientific research and foster academic collaboration among the university's colleges.
