The Department of Human Anatomy at the College of Medicine, Al-Nahrain University, organized a scientific discussion session on Monday, March 17, 2025, as part of the series of sessions presented by board students – Clinical Anatomy and Embryology Study, under the title: "Abdominal Pain Pathways: Visceral & Somatic Pain." The discussion session was presented by Dr. Murtadha Haider Abdul Hassan in the graduate studies discussion hall, where he covered the latest research and developments related to abdominal pain pathways and their clinical applications. The discussions included the following topics: Anatomical foundations of pain sensation transmission in the abdomen. The difference between visceral pain and somatic pain. The concept of referred pain and its causes. Key clinical cases associated with abdominal pain.
The session witnessed remarkable scientific interaction from the attendees, which enriched the discussion and contributed to the exchange of knowledge among participants. This event is part of the efforts of the Human Anatomy Department to enhance medical education and update clinical knowledge for graduate students.
